About moderation

A professional team of moderators from Bang the TablePtyLtd(External links)(External links), in collaboration with Canada Carbon Inc. is responsible for moderating the website.
All public contributions, i.e. contributions that other users of the site can see, and usernames submitted through this website are moderated in accordance with the moderation rules set out below.
Contributions and usernames that do not comply with the moderation rules will be deleted and you will be informed by email.

MODERATION RULES
This site is subject to the following moderation rules:
- Never post personal information about another participant. This includes identifying anyone by their real name if they have not already done so, or providing personal contact information.
- Never refer to a staff member of the consulting organization by name.
- Do not defame any individual or organization. A comment is defamatory if it diminishes or damages the reputation of a person or organization. If you want to insult someone, this is not the place to do it. If you want to accuse someone of wrongdoing or incompetence, this is not the place to do it.
- Do not post anything that could be considered intolerant of a person's race, culture, appearance, gender, sexual preference, religion or age.
- Do not be obscene or use foul language. Many people from different backgrounds visit this site. We want them to be able to continue to do so at home, at work, at school, at university or elsewhere. Disguising profanity by deliberately misspelling it does not make it any less offensive.
- Do not insult or harass any other participant in a personal way. Focus at all times on the logic of the discussion rather than on the individuals involved in the discussion. Participants have the right to decide not to engage in a discussion with you.
- Do not post or link to any inappropriate, offensive or illegal material. Do not post any advertisements.
- Do not promote self-harm, suicide, violence or any criminal activity.
- The use of emoticons or images to convey inappropriate meaning will also be moderated according to the rules described above.
- Please refrain from expressing concerns about moderation on the site, as this disrupts the flow of discussion. Please direct questions about moderation to the moderation team at support@engagementhq.com(External links)(External links).
PENALTIES
Violations of the moderation rules will be handled as follows:
- Removal of comments - any comments that, in the opinion of the moderator, violate the rules will be removed.
- Temporary Suspension - A participant who repeatedly and flagrantly violates the moderation rules may be denied access to the website for up to one week. The period of time will depend on the severity and frequency of the violation.
- Permanent blocking - a participant who continues to violate the moderation rules following reinstatement after a period of suspension may lose access to the website permanently.
- Automatic blocking - a participant who posts or links to inappropriate, offensive or illegal content will be immediately removed from the site.
CONVENIENCES
These are not rules, but suggestions to keep the site respectful and constructive.
- It is advisable to read the information on the site and the comments of other participants before engaging in the discussion.
- Always respect the views of other participants even if they disagree with you.
- Be constructive. It's okay to disagree with other forum participants. In fact, we encourage debate, but keep the dialogue positive.
- Always be polite. While this can be difficult at times, especially when you have a vested interest in an issue, it is important to anchor the exchange on the issues rather than letting the discussion deteriorate into personal insults.
- Once you have made a comment, keep an eye on the project to see what others have to say.
- If you think someone has insulted you, report it to the moderator by clicking the "Alert Moderator" button. Do not let the dispute continue. The moderator will review the reported comment and see if it should be deleted.
- Stay on topic. The projects on this site have been created for a specific purpose. Please stay on topic.
- Turn off the "CAPS LOCK" key. Writing in capital letters is equivalent to SHOUTING and can be offensive.
- Choose a place to post each of your unique comments. Avoid copying and pasting the same comment to several different places on the website. These comments will be considered duplicates and may be deleted.
- Don't be a "troll". Trolls tend to intentionally annoy or offend. They do not participate constructively in the discussion and add no value to the debate.
- Do not intimidate, harass or threaten other participants. If another participant shares an opinion with which you disagree, you do not have the right to demand that they justify their position with a detailed argument. They are not obligated to answer your questions. It is up to each individual to participate as much or as little as they wish.
- Please respect the moderators. Their job is to make sure the forum stays safe and constructive so that everyone can have their say. It's not always an easy job.

In some cases, we will refer you to the website owner for a final decision.
Can the website owner delete my comment just because they don't like it?
All reviews of comments by our moderators are in accordance with the moderation rules described above. However, the owner of this site reserves the right to request a review of a comment if he or she believes that the comment violates these moderation rules, in which case you will be notified by email.

Is the moderation done independently of the initiator using the platform?
Yes. Moderation is independent of the initiator using the platform. There are only two places where moderation takes place on the site. The initiator using the platform can decide to moderate the comments of the participants and to answer them if he wants.
How does moderation deal with comments that suggest someone is at risk of harming themselves, others or others?
TTO moderators are trained to identify comments containing references to self-harm and threats of violence and crime. Comments that mention or promote any of these behaviors are removed. They are escalated and our clients are notified to take appropriate action. Subsequent actions are at the discretion of the client including calling in law enforcement, health or first responder services. Bang the Table strongly recommends that clients have a mechanism in place to deal with these situations and use registration for their engagement activities. If you notice any comments of this nature, please alert our moderators or the site owner. Our team can be contacted at support@engagementhq.com(External links)(External links).
